Btw, I've decided to take the following with me to London:

20D
17-40 f/4
85 f/1.8
Sigma EF-500 flash
miniDV cam

My bag won't be super heavy and I'll basically have what I need for 95% of situations that might occur.

I guess being at the right place at the right time is worth something.
To my experiance, the more expensive your toys the better the result [freak] unless you're a moron [/freak]. Filters and exposure tricks is where some expertice might come in play, but it seems those could be easily and more efficiently be done with the aid of computers.

I can appreciate a good photograph as much as the next peep but I just can't understand the obsession of shooting every random/stereotypical thing I see around.

It's a plotter if that's what he's talking about. Yes, 7800's and 9800's are technically inkjets, but plotters are still used in many places.

Yes, that's what I said. But many schools/design studios/etc use plotters as well as large-scale printers.

I was just saying that the machines MKJ is thinking of might be plotters. That's what I had my brother use to produce poster-size images for me. I never said that the Epson printers are plotters

The one at dave's school could be one or the other.

this one is from a temple, there's over 18,000 gold statues of buddha in the 2nd floor.

The inside is jaw-dropping, I just wish I could have taken better pics of the interior. That statue is 3 stories tall.
