Yep. I used akimbo Rangers for a long time but now I have akimbo 1887s with FMJs and it's almost better than my AK47.

Does FMJ really boost damage by that much? I was under the impression that it was essentially the Deep Impact perk from CoD4 but with a hint of extra bullet damage.

You're right, but it also negates the accuracy loss that akimbo makes, so it's more damage with two guns and the same accuracy.

Dude. Twin double-barrelled 12 gauge shotties at point-blank range. Every time you shoot someone with them they should get cut in half.

That's true but I think the range is what makes them overpowered. With FMJs the accuracy is insane at 40ft. It's not a bad thing because I love using them but I can see IW nerfing them at some point.
Also when you hit lvl70 you can't continue to gain XP, which blows. I just hit 600 RPG kills and I'm capped at 2.6 million XP.

FMJ does nothing for accuracy.

it does if youre using akimbo. it brings the accuracy back to normal.

No, it doesn't. It doesn't even increase damage, either. The only reason the game shows the damage bar increase is to represent the extra damage you can deal with the gun to someone behind cover. It reduces the amount of damage loss your bullets receive from going through objects, which Infinity Ward wrote down as an increase in damage. It's stupid, but that's how they do the ACOG attachment as well.
FMJ is a direct copy of CoD4's Deep Impact perk, nothing more and nothing less.

so why does the accuracy bar double when i equip them?

Beats me. Does the accuracy bar double when you have FMJ already equipped and then add Akimbo, or when you already have Akimo and then add FMJ? It may have to do with the order in which you add the attachments.

1. Equip Akimbo with bling pro
2. Watch accuracy bar get cut in half
3. Equip FMJs and watch accuracy bar go back to the original level (+50%)
so it looks like FMJs increase accuracy but only if you're using akimbo?

That may be a bug, or maybe adding an attachment makes the game update the weapon stats back to what they should be. Try equipping extended mags or something else instead of FMJ and see if the accuracy still goes back up to the original level.
The thing is obscenely accurate for a shotgun in the first place.

You can't equip extended mags on the shotguns. I'm only talking about akimbo weapons, and it looks like FMJs double the accuracy of them. They even triple the accuracy of akimbo Rangers.

Ok this game is fun when it's not lagged out. Which is 1 out of 20 times that I play.

You must have shit luck, because I don't have much of a problem. Most games I only really notice the lag if I round a corner while being shot and still die. That only happens occasionally, though, and I'm sure it works both ways.

hey guys if any of you are going to play MW2 for a week and only use the RPG to get a super sweet callsign, dont do it cuz it turns out there isn't one for getting 1200 kills with it.
