Thanks dickheads.
The description at the Apple store says nothing about protecting the phone. It just says it gives it a splash of color. That's why I ask...

My current contract expires in about half a year, so I could get the iPhone 4 for Christmas, but I think I'm going to wait for the 4G or 4GS (or whatever they wanna call it).
My iPhone 3G is still going strong, but I did notice that it's slower with the iOS4. Worse yet, the wireless signal bar would drop at least one bar when I'm upstairs (my AirPort Extreme is downstairs), similar to the 3G signal issue on the iPhone 4. I've never had this issue with iOS3 before, so maybe Apple isn't lying when they said the signal strength calculation formula in iOS4 is wrong...

At least with the iphone you only have to adjust your grip, most commonly in low signal areas...

That has nothing to do with the still unresolved issue the Eris is having. But while we're on the subject; my roommate just got a new Samsung phone and is able to choke out its signal by covering the left corner as well. I was able to replicate the signal drop and lost calls in my basement, and on the 9th floor of a 16 story building but not in any other areas.
Perhaps the forums were already down before you could click my link. Basically what is happening is the Droid Eris will eventually, randomly decide to stop broadcasting your voice or playing the other person's voice during any call. It will then keep doing this until you reboot the phone. The particular post I linked to was of someone experiencing that issue while trying to call 911 and having to instead wait while the phone rebooted to hope it would then work.

Well, you're link is to a forum and I don't see references anywhere else, so I'm thinking it's a limited "issue". Was it hardware or software? If the former, why are you even bothering bringing that in this thread?

If you were looking for a message thread on Apple's support forums pointing to Consumer Reports' article 'not recommending' the iPhone 4, it's not there any more. Apple's support forum moderators deleted the thread. Bing cached it.
If it happened once, maybe you'd say it was a glitch. But what if it happened twice? Three times? Four times, five, six?
