Nice car, don't kill yourself.Foo wrote:Finally picked the car up tonight. I absolutely, positively do not know how to drive a car this powerful.
Get yourself a GPS with speed cameras installed ASAP. You need to find out on a clear road when your breaks start to cook. Find out when the turbo starts to deliver the power and try to keep away from that band in sharp corners, etc.Foo wrote:Finally picked the car up tonight. I'm working in North Leeds every day at the mo, viewing a flat lunchtime today. I'd rather do house share, but I need a garage.phantasmagoria wrote:Nice car, don't kill yourself.Foo wrote:Finally picked the car up tonight. I absolutely, positively do not know how to drive a car this powerful.![]()
When're you moving to Leeds?
Thanks Dom, I'll try and get a track day in some time soon. My folks are friendly with the guy that run Scarborough road races, so I may get some time up there when its closed off.Doombrain wrote:Get yourself a GPS with speed cameras installed ASAP. It's also worth having someone check over the running gear to make sure it's all good.
Find a local track and spend a day going around a track, not at speed but faster than you would normally drive trying to find the limits of grip and how the car reacts.
Is it the 165bhp engine?
I guess the only thing that really bugs me is that random bit of fender that extends into the headlight housing.+JuggerNaut+ wrote:previous model owners usually say that.
you must need glasses. there are all kinds of new lines on the new one. old for comparisonTsakali wrote:that's pretty much the only redeeming design feature which separates it from the previous model.
somewhat subtle in comparison yes no?+JuggerNaut+ wrote:you must need glasses. there are all kinds of new lines on the new one. old for comparisonTsakali wrote:that's pretty much the only redeeming design feature which separates it from the previous model.
although i like the new design, the previous model is still sexy as hell and i'm contemplating it if/when i move back out west this summer.
i googled K&M modified supercharger 14psi 422 horse (not 423) but it just listed the video againDoombrain wrote:in fact, where the fuck can i buy a stick on 14psi supercharger?????????????????????
Going back to AZ? So was the east coast thing just temporary?+JuggerNaut+ wrote:although i like the new design, the previous model is still sexy as hell and i'm contemplating it if/when i move back out west this summer.
as far as i know, no, just filtering devices for enginesDoombrain wrote:do k&n even make anything other than filters?
maybe AZ, but most likely CA. it's an option and not mandatory as far as work goes.Captain Mazda wrote:Going back to AZ? A car that is quicker than the Porsche Cayman around a track must not be that bad...Dr_Watson wrote:the 1 series is such a failure as a car.
165 BHP with FWD can't possibly be that bad...Foo wrote:Finally picked the car up tonight. I absolutely, positively do not know how to drive a car this powerful.
It resembles the old one close enough that I don't really care, and to be honest, I don't think it looks worse than the old one (have yet to see the rear though). It's smaller and lighter but with a more powerful engine, which is what really matters to me.bitWISE wrote:Can't say I like what they've done with it.zewulf wrote:Hopefully one of these will be my next car in the not so distant future...
