Factotum 8/10

Matt Dillon as Bukowski, not bad....He's spot on to a young Buk in looks, like Depp with thompson.......but somehow this film seemed chopped together. disjointed, not unlike a Bukowski novel. TBH...
Felt like I was watching a play on film instead of a movie.''
Worth a look

The Wild 7/10 pretty funny, but not quite as good.

The Departed

9 out of fucking 10 :icon14:

What can I say, movie kept its pace at all times and the ending was intense as hell. Excellent story and flawless acting, especially Leo. Damon and Nicholson awesome as usual and the gratuitous violence wasn't overused to the point that it became a cliched gimmick - It helped deliver the plot. Excellent movie. Excellent.

Two thumbs up :icon14::icon14:

Oh and lots of people lined up for Borat. Lots.

Silent Hill - 6/10

Acually a lot better than I'd expected. A few annoyances, especially in the beginning, but other than that it's a pretty good horror movie with an easy to spot video game heritage.

Zatoichi At Large 7.5 / 10

Number 23 in the 26 movie series which came out of Japan in the 60's and 70's.

Some innovative camera work and moody, hip 70's music help keep what is a familiar story feeling fresh.

The guy is a blind samurai, what more do you want?

Some parts of it were pretty creepy and some parts I thought could've been in the Doom movie had they made it about hell and not some gay mutants.

The film was aimed at new gamers, not at the late teens that played DOOM when it came out. There'd have been an uproar if parents got wind of their children watching movies about hell. The worst part is that it's the fanboys that suffer :icon23:

I liked Departed but didn't like Infernal Affairs. Maybe if I watched Infernal Affairs before the Departed I would have liked A.I. a bit more but I thought Infernal Affairs didn't have anywhere close to the amount of tension, acting quality, script (well the subtitled stuff), and depth in characters that Departed had.

Still, it was the original and came up with the story so I'll give it that.

What'd you think feedback?
I saw it when it came out, so my opinion is actually the opposite of yours. I thought it was well written and had a lot of depth (with the exception of the "cop"'s girlfriend, random) to the characters. I didn't think it moved too fast to get attached to the characters, but maybe I'm more used to these kind of movies than others.
