That is an interesting read, there's info there that I've certainly not seen reported anywhere else.
By the same token, I heard on the news this morning that a group of Danish Islamic imams tried to meet with the newspaper and were turned down. It was allegedly after this that the shitstorm started.

were they the ones who then flew to the middle east with 12 cartoons and a few they'd made up themselves? heard one of them on the radio this morning. he sounded like an asshole, but just think of all the grief that could've been avoided if the editor had the stones to have just talked to them
do we have any danes on here, is it true they treat muslims like shit?

I've just thought of a wonderful strategy.
Every newspaper and site in the western world needs to start publishing mohammed cartoons. One of two things will happen:
1) It will be seen as the "doing it for the sake of doing it" that it is, and the violence will eventually subside.
2) They will riot even more. Sure they'll tear up a few towns and cities here, but they'll wind up destroying their entire civilization's infrastructure over there and be stuck with oil and a giant sandbox.
Either way, we win!

sort of a corollary to #2, if they start rioting, at least the matter will be settled instead of all this back and forth petty stuff (both sides are guilty of that)
