That was pretty cool. Now I'm listening to it, too.

I actually much prefer their original album to anything else they've done. Vol3 was excellent but in a different way from the first. All Hope is Gone doesn't interest me at all though. It feels like Corey convinced the band their new name was Stone Sour and then they made a bunch of insincere bullshit radio songs. If you like All Hope is Gone, listen to Stone Sour. Much better execution of that style of music.

The whole album is really good, I'd totally recommend it.

Mustaine must have put on a MUCH better performance than the past couple times he's been here in Vancouver. His last two shows were really lackluster and he just appeared broken and disinterested on stage. Slayer, OTOH, I'm kicking myself even more for missing after reading your post

Mustaine was great. Unfortunately for him though, he's pretty much carrying the band at this stage. Considering it was rebuilt from scratch a few years ago (compared to Slayer who have been playing together nearly 30 years now). I've only recently started listening to Megadeth, so I don't recognize many of their songs. But they did an incredible rendition of Symphony of Destruction and later Mechanix in a medley. Their drummer is pretty average. Their mix was kind of soft as well but all in all, pretty decent.
Now Slayer, was fucking legendary. The Hanneman/King dual attack is unparalleled and Lombardo is well deserving of all the praise he gets. Not to mention, his bass drum was organ-rearrangingly loud. They did the 3 known songs off the new album, War Ensemble, Jihad, Born of Fire, Mandatory Suicide, Dead Skin Mask, Disciple, Angel of Death, South of Heaven and Raining Blood and a few others that I'm forgetting. Completely blown away, easily one of the best live bands I've ever seen
I watched that Muse clip and kinda liked the song... so i proceeded to download their last two albums. Unfortunately i appear to only like the tracks 'Uprising' and 'Starlight', which i find powerful & uplifting.... i got rid of the rest quickly
