I tried both Dogfish Head 60 and 90 minute IPAs and was impressed with both. The 60 minute seemed a bit more carbonated and the 90 minute was more alcoholized :-). They were both subdued as far as the hops and ABV. Very smooth and drinkable though. Excellent IPAs and would definitely buy again. Although I still prefer Stone IPA. The hops in Stone IPA are famous for a reason.

I just had some for the first time last night. Very nice. It was actually more easily drinkable than I expected. Pretty hoppy for a barleywine, too. Nice combination of hops and malt.

Followed by Dark Horse Scotty Karate. I love me a good Scotch ale. This one was very smokey and just a little bit sweet, but not really "peaty" like some Scotch ales... and that's a good thing. It smelled a bit like compost but thankfully no taste of it. A good sipper, but I don't think I could drink more than one of these in a night.

Also had Great Lakes Christmas Ale.
Also very good, but it was the 3rd beer of the night. I just remember it was a nice copper color, slightly sweet, and not over-spiced like some xmas brews. Not as good as Summit's Winter Ale, but they're different enough to be an apples to oranges comparison.

GL Christmas Ale is amazing this year. Try this car bomb style.

Take half a glass of it and drop a shot of goldslagger, baileys, and fangelico.

Just tried some Victory Hop Devil. Damn good IPA. Rivals Stone imo. Also tried and very well liked Victory Golden Monkey triple ale.

dogfish has pretty much perfected the IPA. the 90 is awesome, but whenever i can get my hands on a 120, it's a real treat. lagunitas maximus IPA is incredibly good too.

got a six of Sierra Nevada's Celebration ale. it's boring, don't bother.

Maybe I got a dud. I'll do a side by side comparison next weekend.

Amstel Light is good beer.. I like the taste, goes well with lunch. Surely it's not a heavy beer which seems most of you prefer but nonetheless.

blue moon winter ale - also crap. had a Sam Smith Winter Welcome last weekend though, and it was as good as i remembered.

I'm going to stick with my decision. Yes, Stone has quite a bit more hop bite than DFH 90. I'm sitting here with a 90 in my hand. It just doesn't have that bite. Excellent nonetheless.

Also, tried a Deschutes Brewery Mirror Pond Pale Ale. Nothing spectacular, pretty good though. Would definitely drink again.

Bought me a slab (Aussie for case (read 24pack)) of these for Christmas.

It is becoming a bit of a tradition for me.

You might want to try the Hopsecutioner from Terrapin (dunno if that's been mentioned, thread was tl,dr)

So far the Southern Tier is excellent.

THAT's the one I couldn't think of - the Founder's Centennial is one of the best hoppy beers I've tried.

Beer is ok... if you can't afford protein shakes.

Picked up a La Fin Du Monde today. Fixing to crack it open. Got some Deschutes Black Butte Porter as well. I drink the Deschutes pretty regularly lately. Been kinda laying off the Sam Adams for a while.

While La Fin is a good Ale, I think you might better like Trois Pistoles also by Unibroue. However imho their line of beer/Ales are the only thing good that comes out of Canada. Yes that's right, it's a Canadian Brewery.

I have for the last 2 years or so had a heavy tilt towards Imperial Stouts.

These are not your Guinness Extra Stout. To call that ill begottin filth beer, let alone Ale is sacrilege. It's pure filth in a bottle or worse a can.

I can name quite a few that represent well the RIS (Russian Imperial Stout) or IS (Imperial Stout), but I would rather you find them. Note tho, they are heavy in release this time of year.

Find them, sniff them, sip 'em, and know why you spent a few extra in cash as they warm up some....impart more smells in a proper snifter....and taste better as they get warmer. These Imperial's are NOT swill beers, nor are the meant to be served cold.

Imperial Stouts are, when brewed proper, well in the 9%+ ABV range.

I've been drinking some Victory Storm King Imperial Stout lately. Starting to like it quite a bit. That La Fin Du Monde was pretty good. I haven't found any Trois Pistoles around here yet.
