I am still not sure what to make of this game. I go from liking it a lot, to hating it. I can't work out how I manage to get any armour. It's telling me I should upgrade, but I can't simply buy any armour I need an ingot. Where the hell I get that from I do not know.

I cannot ask anyone playing because they either speak French, German or fucking Korean.

When I do venture outside to kill shit I get arse raped by Bubba and his shower buddies.

Buy a salvage kit and use it on items you don't need for your character. You'll get cloth/hides/wood/iron and stuff like that. Then take the crafting materials to a crafter and they'll make you better armor for a little gold.

I believe you can only train 1 pet.
Servers are apparently down.

I started an Elementalist. It's going pretty well. However, I still hate the fact that everyone I come across is speaking German or Korean.

Try swapping to the American region in the Edit Account screen Pauly.
Makes things a lot more bearable.

K, no worries, will do as soon as I can log back in...
Dunno WTF is going on at the mo, and the Guild Hall forums are swamped and borked.

Also, if you switch to the American region, you stand a greater chance of accessing the high level content (when you get to be high level that is).
Your region has to hold the Hall of Heroes for you to be able to access the special levels, and it seems to be a 2-horse race most of the time, with American winning about 70-80% of the time, Korea winning most of the rest. I think I've seen Europe win maybe 5 times in the course of 3 days.

OK cool.

As the only time I read any manual is when I am sitting on the shitter, can somebody give me some info please..

I understand the lvl cap is 20? That seems extremely low for a game of this nature. However I did read somewhere that the game really begins at lvl 20. Is that the case? If so, what actually happens?

Cheers.

It's hard to say.

Most people will turn to you and say that once you've reached 20, it's the PvP that you should be doing.
And there's a lot to be said for that. You gain fame the more matches you win, and it's all a matter of correct skill balance. It could be said it's the RPG equivalent of Quake.

However, I had a lot of fun playing PvE with my level 20 guy.
First, there's all the top level armour to get a hold of, and that can take a lot of time.

Then there's runes to find to apply to said armour to get the most benefit from it that you can.

Collecting all of the skills for your 2 classes is also something else to work towards. After level 20, you still "level-up", you just don't get any attribute points. You get a skill point for every level after 20.
As there's approximately 75 skills per class, that's a LOT of levelling.
Then there's the rumours about being able to change your second class post-"Ascension". As for what Ascension is, I have no clue at all, but I think it has something to do with the high level content.

There's a LOT to this game I haven't seen, and I've been from 1 to 20 in the beta. Even early on, I've been finding stuff I've never seen before (such as the Abominations in Dragon's Gullet).

I've never played a MMO before, and I must say GW is a great primer. The no-monthly-cost is also a big plus. By the way, I'm playing as Sylveth Duath.

so you can you shoot stuff and run up and batter people in this one, or is it like a turn-based spellcasting d&d type thing?
