Oddly you can buy them in pairs from some retailers, not the same box, but you get a small discount for buying a "set"

You have to make sure that the second card you purchase is identical to the one you already have. You also have to make sure that both cards have the same BIOS revision. Otherwise you'll have to flash the video card BIOS in order for SLI to work properly.

BTW, I picked up an ATI 7000 64MB PCI video card today. We'll see if this will remedy my problem. :icon31:

Did you pick up a stick of corsair XSI 1GB DDR 500 CAS 3 ram to go with it? :icon31:

Jesus gwamps, you sure suck at games or what? Your kill death ratio is almost 1:1
I'd recommend wiping that stats sig to save yourself further embarrasment. It couldn't be anymore average.

No... I already have 2 gigs (4x512MB) Corsair TWINX PC4400 DDR CAS 2.5 RAM. I don't need any more than that. :icon26:

I have 300 more kills than deaths. Plus, those stats aren't current. My score is over 7000 now. BF2s is slacking.

Looks like a fix, thanks.
if the fix is adding a 3rd video card lol.
Well, it's more like a work around. Though it does suck not to be able to use dual displays in SLI after spending the cash on two video cards. But all I really use the second display to do is run apps. So spending an extra $30 on another card isn't so bad. It's way better than not being able to use my second monitor.
Good thing you
did double check before buying that product then eh?

Yeah good thing....
Especially when you can get a work around for under $50.00.
BTW, my second monitor is up and running on the ATI. But I am suffering from some screen lag on it. When you drag a window across the screen, the window kind of chugs along.
When I go to the device manager/ video adapters and look under the driver details for the ATI, it tells me I'm running the 8.162.0.0 from 8/3/05. I think these are the latest. I'm not an ATI guy, do I need to install the ATI control center for this thing to work?

I think mixing the 2 video card vendors will be a real problem, and I think this is why it lags for you. The ATI card will be running with no hardware acceleration, because the drivers it requires aren't (and can't be) present on the system.
Are there any nVidea PCI cards on the market? If there are, I would suggest one of those. It will run from the drivers you need to use for the SLi cards.
I'm not 100% that this is the problem, but 90%.

If you follow the link on the first page, you'll see that there are several people doing this without a problem. That's why I'm thinking that this will work and it's a conflict or problem that can be fixed. :icon26:
I've posted my question there too.

Well I guess I was right. I just had to install the control console, now everything works perfect. No more screen lag.
Good stuff. :icon25:

Yes, but it will be faster than 90% of the personal computers owned for the next 3 years.

I use mine all the time. If I'm in game I can play on one screen and have my Team Speak and Command console open on the other so I can see who's coming and going.

That's all today....
Though my mobo is 939, so a CPU upgrade isn't far fetched.
