God dammit.
I thought this mouse looked perfect and thought I'd upgrade from my fading MX500. But with 1 thumb button, it's crap. I thought it would be a tilting button so you could still do forwards & back, but it doesn't look like it.

I guess I'll be picking up an MX518 then.

more thumb buttons are the way to go.

Well other then the battery, Every time I put down the mouse. It would lag for just a second. But that one second would cause all kind of havoc. Have to over steer to adapt for it.

Until the battery starts to fade and you realize that it cant be repleaced... guess you already knew that denz... right?

And ofcourse YOU knew the lithium-ion battery it uses lasts so long and works so efficently that you will wear out the buttons before the battery begins to erode. :)

There simply is no better mouse on the market or in the forseeable future , to me atleast.

I found that after a few weeks of steady gameing I'd get a slight mouse lag with the MX1000. I eventually stopped useing it for gameing all together because the mouse lag just kept getting worse. I went and bought the MX518 and I have to say, in my experiance its far superior to to the MX1000 for Q3A.

Other games were fast movements with the mouse were not used as intensely....the MX1000 works fine, but for Q3A were speed and prescision are a big factor ...MX518 all the way :icon34:

Hmm no problems here. Sure it wasnt in your head? I know its hard to tell, but its also very common.

Its really not, the way it fits in your hand it very comfortable, look at where your fingers rest, not the outline of the base. But it doest seem i have a tendency to lean to larger mice. If they are too small my hands cramp.

I dont think so. I'd find the on rocketjumps and really fast turns in Q3 it was just not a very reliable mouse. It worked fine for a while, I was really happy to not have to deal with the mouse wire. But after a few times playing it until its need a recharge, then recharging it, it just seemed to get worse and worse.

I couldnt hit anything with any consistancy. Once I switched to the MX18 I was back to playing the way I normally do.

losChunk, I may have had something messing with the signal....but I have no idea what it could have been. I didnt do anything differently from when I first bought it, to when I started to notice a degredation in the quality of the mouse.

I just noticed over time it got worse. All my other logitech mice have been fairly consistant in how they handle. If yours is still working fine, then perhaps mine is a unique case. Personally I wish the MX1000 was as good as my MX518....the cord is a pain :\

MX700 or Death
[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

with many games around you NEED thumb buttons to keep your left hand from getting tangled by all the different actions to do

So cry?

I know alot of lefties, and they all use the mouse with the right hand..

which is not working for me. I'm far more precise with my left hand than with my right. Normal windows mousing I can manage with right, but a game like Quake is impossible.

Adapt or go with the other brand mice i suppose..

Sucks because the MX700/800/500/1000 are all great mice..

Yes they are, in my opinion Logitech still makes the best mouses. In fact, I find even my MX310 is better than current products from other manufacturers. Besides, most other brands don't have good left- or unihand mouses anyway.

Left handed people forcing themselves to do things right handed makes them far more susceptible for RSI.

It's annoying that lefties always have their mouse on the left hand side, but I don't think it's fair to say they have to adapt to do things the right handed way. It's just not something you easily do. You try and play Quake with your left hand, you'll think twice then.
