I've tried disc brakes though... seems ok, but im more used to V brakes and i havent really had any major probs wih 'em.
I'm currently looking at a new bike which has hydraulic rim brakes. They seem very nice, since it eliminates the tension reduction in metal brake cables.

yea the lugged is it i think too.

hey you know what i seen alot of?

if its a hand made frame, when the welder has a pipe that doesnt quite line up perfect, they might weld one end on, then force the other end in place, tak it, then weld it in.

that tension in the frame/pipe is it vulnerability , or so ive kinda seen anyways.

I've always had more confidence in hand made frames. The welding is just better unless the welder didn't know what he was doing. Machine welds aren't usualy as good. Least that's the way it was about 10 years ago.
