Apparently Uwe Boll gets rewarded through making shitty movies because of some crazy German film law. He snags the rights to video game licenses, makes low budget movies that do poorly, and then get's to make others.
I love the guy.
also, if you rent Alone in the Dark watch the director's commentary. There's a part where he talks about how he decided to randomly make Christian Slater's character into some karate-ninja because he found out that Slater has taken tai kwon do.

Not only are all the people (except Gman and Barney) in Half Life 2 PLAYED (Voiced) by REAL LIFE FAMOUS ACTORS, but they also lend their face to the game, meaning everybody in HL2 is already a great actor, so why not use them?

Its kinda like all the stuff thats going on with the Max Payne film, and the Splinter Cell film and stuff...
You have that actor who did the voice, the face and everything for Max Payne 2, but he wotn be used for the film, even though hes a good actor and could pull it off because he IS max payne.
But then, we have that Ironside guy or whatever his name is, the guy from Total Recall, whose just to old to play fisher in the splinter cell film...

that made me laugh.. maybe keanu is the right one to play gordon(if the entire movie will be shot from first person perspective though..
