that's my opinion
I have to agree on that, the GBA SP is still be most elegant handheld available today, and with the biggest library of games available to it.

I'm intending to pick one up towards the end of this month if not sooner. Was waiting for the price to lower somewhat.

Either way Sony has 1 handheld, the PSP and Nintendo have... loads. Any sale of the GBASP is still one up for Nintendo in the fight.

While I do respect your opinion, it seems a bit of a paradox. If you feel DS games look old, why prefer a much older device?

GBA has the best (looking) 2d games/sidescrollers. DS tries to mix in 3D that looks horrid.

What i cant stand is Sony/Nintendo's way of thinking sometimes...

People saw the DS, and it has the power of a n64, even more so... Whats the first thing they all say?

"I cant wait for X game fro mthe n64 to come out i'll buy that instantly!!"

(replace X with Goldeneye, Zelda etc etc)

And what happens? They wont do them. not that they cant, Rares making DS games now and Zelda is nintendos child. Even though they would both sell out in insane time.

Same with PSP, there are sooooo many games that would work. Metal Gear for one. But what do they do...

They turn it into a card game...? WTF???

DS plays GBA games ;)

And yes, so far, I have had more fun on my SP than my DS. Yo ujsut cant beat 2D side scrollers.

But i'm sure that will change once RE:DS comes out :p

Rare has asked people to let them know what the people want them to make if they made a DS game. I'm sure 9 out of 10 of those mails with suggestions will be about Goldeneye, I'm cherishing the hope of them doing Goldeneye for the DS.

Yeah, that's why the DS out-sells the PSP all over the world :olo:

Thats a lie actually...
Certainly not in Japan it is not:

Nintendo DS = 80,945 units (50.61%)
Playstation 2 = 33,292 (20.82%)
PSP = 23,923 (14.96%)
GBA = (10.97%)
Gamecube = (2.48%)
XBox = (0.16%)

source

And I know for a fact the DS is outselling all other consoles in Europe as well, although at this moment, I do not have the figures to back it up.

edit:
and I have to admit that sales numbers don't mean a lot at this point. I mean, the Gamecube sold more than any other console ever before in the first week or so as well and look how it's doing against the PS2 now.

The only thing these figures prove is that statements about Nintendo not surviving the next generation are nonsense.
Well as the PSP isnt out in Europe yet its silly to say ALL OVER THE WORLD

Also, in the US PSP and DS sales are now level

GB Micro doesn't look so great. From what I've read there's no compatability with GB titles, only GBA ones.

Expect that to change VERY quickly with the release of Nintendogs and Advance Wars DS.

I have always liked Sony and their products and Nintendo have, to me, always felt a bit "childish" when it comes to game expereince.

Sure DS is out selling PSP... but what happens when it gets released in Europe that has a few million gamers... :paranoid:

Im not here to argue or take sides, im just saying i personally dont like nintendo and havent for a very long time... my heart belongs to Dreamcast.

I agree, but doesn't that just mean a smaller screen?

The SP is very small yet when you're using it it's larger because it unfolds. This doesn't. On top of that, the screen and buttons are permanently exposed.
