I am applying for this post as it is a role that interests me greatly, and I have relevant skills and experience. I am sure it is a role I will both enjoy and excel in and I feel I am an ideal candidate for this post due to the following:
Proven technical skills: I have previously worked in computer store that involved me diagnosing and repairing PC systems that were brought to us.

How about "I feel the position would suit me both personally and as a compliment to my skills". Branch off from there. Your opening sounds cliche because it's pretty much what anyone pens when they're first responding to this question.

I have attained 2 A levels in computing and system technician courses.

How about "I have A-Level qualification in computing and system maintenance" (or whatever the real qualifications were called)

I am also able to program in raw HTML, a trait that I have learned from qualification and helping run a major website.

You'll get shot down instantly by stating you 'can program HTML'. Arguably, HTML is programming because you generate a document which generates a potentially dynamic response from the browser. But unlikely. At best, HTML can be called 'scripting' and you might get away with it. I would refer to 'Web design experience' rather than nailing just HTML. The web today is barely dependant on HTML (at least in the sense of how much time you would spend working with it) and if you hint at understanding this you'll impress.

Team member: I am diligent and thorough in my work. I am presentable, eloquent and friendly, and enjoy working as a part of a team.

This section ended up not being about your team skills and instead about general skills. Would suggest elaborating on your team skill levels or experience (if you can say 'have worked in teams of varying size over the course of x years experience') this sounds better

On a day to day basis I am polite and pleasant to all colleagues and customers alike. This has always been the case in every job that I have had.

I always felt this was a bit like stating 'I brush my teeth every morning before coming to work so's I don't make people barf up close like'.

Perhaps 'My customer-facing skills have been continually improving throughought my work history, and this is an area which I feel can continually be improved

I have worked both on the phones and also in a face to face customer service I believe that if you know your job

my skills complement her skills, so together, we make a complete set of skills (since I have skills A B C and she has skills D E F), so for a task that requires skills A-F, our combined skills will be up for the job.
