Left Amsterdam a few days ago with my gf actually, I didn't miss the fucking cyclists one tiny bit... my nightmares now consist of darkness, followed by *tring tring* and then a loud bang, then I wake up in a pool of sweat.
Typically Dutch or not though, I quite liked the place aside from the shite weather.

also, loads of bikes is typically dutch0. and i would think a city that has been around for 700 years has more cultural value than a city that was rebuilt 50 years ago
nah seriously. the touristy stuff of amsterdam is not very dutch. although the small customs still peek through if you know where to look for them (behaviour of waiters, etc).
