Those marines aren't shitty or anything, but the more realistic things get, the less style IMO.

Totally agreed, man. Visually, this game is so not Quake. Very little style is seen in the humans so far. :/

Considering its multiplayer is slated to be Quake III gameplay with better graphics, I look forward to it, even though the campaign is really, really lacking style (remember the shots of some of the weapons?)

There needs to be a proper blend of realism and arcade style fun.

Physics are more of a game than the games themselves. I had more fun in Quake II and III messing around with the physics than fragging people.

Current games are the same way. I remember the Battlefield 1942 demo and how a new funny thing would be discovered every day. That spirit lives on in games like Battlefield 2, Joint Operations (Hackiest game EVER. EVER. Someone coded a hack that let them fly a fucking APC around like a jet.) and of course Halo.

I have more fun trying to see if I can wingsurf a jet than flying the jet around and shooting bad guys.

You know what I find strange?

Its how cool they look "bald" and then they give our lead guy a REALLY REALLY shity hair cut. I've see nthis haircut before. Egon has it in GhostBusters 1. YEAH, THE FUTURE!!

I don't wimp out of challenges dumbo, I just can't play everyone who wants to play me cause the whole world wants to destroy me so...being hounded everywhere you go gets boring.

I dont doubt they look cool, hell, I'm even impressed with the level of detail they got in the amor, it looks lush. But its just so not Quake 2 in terms of style and design :(

Read it wrong sir...

Quake 4 single player will be everything Doom 3 wasn't , i.e., good.

Quake 4 multiplayer will be everything Quake 3 WAS, i.e. a decent MP game. The physics math is exactly the same, the movement, the jumps, the rocket jumps, the plasma (which is now nail) jumps, the jump pads are back, there will be slime, lava etc, no locational damage (Its all bounding box in MP, not per poly like SP), better netcode, more tweaks for FPS etc... Plus the game modes that will be added will be taken from both Q3 and TA, so you will ahve CTF, but als ohave a few TA style modes.

Oh, and a few remade maps from past id engine games will be in there. Lets hope for DM6 (i'm sure DM6 will be there).

So dont worry Duhard, i'm sure you will love it.
