I got the cube for the resident evil games and the hope that it's youth targeted market would make it easier to get my gf into gaming.

Get monkey ball if you don't have it for the XBox yet.

I thought it was released on XBox as well, in a special Monkey Ball 1 + 2 package with additional bonus levels.

Typically, kiddy games are cute, easy to play, and don't require much strategy. She seems to love Mario Party; she wouldn't let me quit when I got bored.

I bought the gamecube just for Windwaker. It was a pleasant game to play and I recommend it, although the sailing gets tedious and I didn't think the buildup of gameplay and storyline was as strong as your N64 Ocarina of Time. Hopefully the new Zelda coming this winter will be more true to the series.

smash bros and metroid.

NO STRATEGY?? Nintendo games are easy to play, but hard to master. Having a million buttons to remember doesn't equal strategy, or depth.

I wouldn't say they're all easy, Metroid Prime and especialy Echoes was far from easy if you don't use any online guides. Games like monkey ball though are very easy and not really that hard to master.

Thats because monkeyball is a gay sega game.

I've always liked sega. I've always thought they were a little crazy jumping ship from console to console but otherwise they've made pretty decent games in the past.

I hated Killer 7...but I think it is one of those games that is just that - a love or hate game.

i was interested in Killer 7 when it was first announced. a bit later they came out with the first trailer. it didnt show anything of how the game would be played. a waited, a few months later, still same old shit. they didnt say anything about gameplay. few months later, same thing. and then finally when they did come out with a gameplay video, i had already lost any interest in it and didnt even care to watch it. still dont care.

also: monkey ball (2 especially) rules for multiplayer. i dont care for singleplayer at all but its the best party game ever IMO.

metroid prime sucks IMO. if you ilke it, thats cool, but yeah i thought it was boring as hell.

soul calibur 2 is better for gamecube than it is for the other systems if youre playing with the stock controller.

True

Monkey Ball is not easy to master. Yes, maybe it's, with a bit of patience, possible to play it all the way through the end (I did find the later levels pretty challenging actually), I have seen videos from some Japanese dude finishing levels in utterly impossible ways. Seeing what's possible with Monkey Ball makes me realise that I have far from mastered it.

I found Monkey Ball 1's multiplayer to be better. The minigames that are present in MB1 are more fun than the minigames in MB2 and the new MB2 minigames, with the exception of the dogfight one, aren't really much fun IMO.

The only great thing about MB2 is the option to play Monkey Target with four players simoultaniously.
