Their not designed for propper throughput, using a propper firewall such as through Linux would be able to handle it. And no, I'm not being a cunt about Linux > Windows, but it's a fact.
Are you kids this stupid?

Who the fuck is going to build or buy a hardware firewall? Nerds, that's who.

Edit: Verizon FIOS is a sham.

Linux uses software for a firewall, it's like you're saying that Tiny personal firewall is a hardware firewall because it runs on a PC.

Hardware firewalls are far superior to software firewalls. The reasons are obvious. :dork:

You call us nerds, but at least we know what we're talking about.

I grimace regularly at kids who think the average PC user is going to:

a.) Have a firewall.
b.) Have a hardware firewall.

I'm using a hardware firewall and I understand why it's better than software (I never said anything contrary to that, Cool Blue, you pile of shit). I don't use it because it's a firewall, I use it because it's a router that happens to also act as a firewall.

If your a big enough nerd to shell out that much for an internet connection, you'll probably have a firewall, too.

Incidently, I know a number of people who don't know a thing about managing computers who have firewalls.
