I'm sorry I started all this tnf. I agree that some of the tricks are amazing but I think magic has been losing popularity lately.

Yeah, he was ostrecized. Depite being masked, every magician instantly recognized him by his style and his body language.
on the one i watched he revealed himself. kinda helped them work out who he was.
I think it was actually a series that was on 4 or 5 sundays in a row, and in the final one he unmasked. But they figured him out from day 1.
And yes, David Blaine is very good with the slight(sleight?) of hand. But I would be more impressed if he did it with a live audience. Its easy to make a trick look good if you can do it over and over untill you get it right
Speaking of magic specials, this wierdo has one coming up on TLC:

^^ now thats a freaky-ass trick, although its pretty obvious how he does it. Ads on the site are NSFW.

Just google - every single one of his tricks are exposed somewhere on the net

LOL so you mean he's not doing real real magic?!!?!??!?!?!?!??!?! Thats fucking nuts!
like tnf keeps trying to say, its the speed of his tricks/illusions that make it interesting. who cares if you know how to do it. that is only a small part of the thing. being able to do it is the tough part.
julios: the difference is if i ask you pick a number between 50 and 100, you might say 68. but if i give you cards numbered 50-100 face down and you cant see what is what, then who cares about the educated guessing game? face down or whatever is what most magicians do.

whatever with how.
anybody can know how to "slight of hand"
but not anybody can do it .
its not magic, its skill

I suspect that part of the ire towards blaine fans is that some of them might actually think he's doing real magic.
But from what I've read, his stuff in real life isn't as impressive as that on video.
Not sure what Riddla means by blaintologists - are they fans who believe that he's really doing magic, or fans that think that the stuff he does is as impressive in real life as it is on video.

Ok champ. Since you obviously can't figure out *what* it is that I was actually amazed about, why don't you put up a video of you pulling off the tricks for us...they are all, of course, on the net...

Riddla, this is two threads that you have really missed the point of....the scientific merits of ID vs. Evolution....and this one. Before making your pretentious posts, why not try and get the jist of what the thread is about...

And that's the post I'm talking about...before you say you are referencing south park or whatever...

They don't...but here you came in and mocked everyone in the thread for their 'amazement over David Blaine' - without any qualification. So you're comment, without any prequalification, really doesn't support anything.

At least you've admitted it.
