Yeah I like my TFT but I agree with this. They do not do black well at all.

It'd be a bit difficult to see what I'm doing for the next 2 1/2 years without one

this is why LCD HDTV's are a laughing stock. i'll take a rear projector any day over an LCD.

Thirty months?
I understand waiting for upcoming technologies...but two and a half years is a bit much. Granted, my current CRT is going on 6 years, and still works great, so I probably will wait until early 2008 before getting a new monitor. :(
