The one that made this thread.

edit: it's close enough though, I'm glad to have a little easier access to some files and still be a picky bitch about where they are at.

It was for music. The actionscript monitored my music folders for new additions, and when I would rip a CD, it was set up to display a 400x400 JPG of the album cover with others (Opacity 30% normal, 90% when hovered on.) When clicked, it would send the folder to Winamp.
It got in the way, so I don't run it any longer. The same script would work for any folder, command, or shortcut.
Why would you need to do that, unless you're tone deaf?

bork[e] wrote:So what if you had a click and drag menu on your desktop, one where all you could see while closed is a grey verticle line off to the side of your screen. When you needed an icon just click and drag the window open (or some little button that opened it for you, a hotkey on your mouse or sommat), click you icon, and it closes when finished...
um, the taskbar?

auto closes, and you can toggle always on top.. never stays on top in games.. and can add and take away as many tabs as you want..
This looks fantastic!

Winamp Skin
Windows Skin
Desktop Image
that desktop image is prolly too small, I think you're one of those guys with a 16000000x180000000 res.
You might not be able to do what you want with those themes, but I haven't checked.

I've been doing this for a few years:
folders right next to the start menu. Can place any shortcut or other file in them that you please and they expand just like the start menu, but more conveniently.
Just add the 'links' toolbar to your taskbar, then clear out all the default shitty windows links, then add folders and shortcuts in to it (right click

open folder)
No addons, all vanilla windows explorer stuff.
EDIT: Seems watson has been doing something very similar too.

yeah, i do it by tossing a bunch of links into folders, then right clicky task bar + toolbars + new tool bar

point at folder full-o-links.
presto.
