horton wrote:i guess that explains why u get the cars cheaper than in europe.

either way if u just want a car, its a fucking ripoff
but if you were looking at buying a golf and tuning it, its probably a lot cheaper than it would cost you to do it yourself.
w3rd, especially one in show condition

the ones which loose 80% of the value are the ones which are done shit or the car has aged that little bit to much (or a shit car)

guarantee theres a vr6 funboi around with money burning holes in his pocket

as much as i would be tempted to buy something that has already had all the money spent on it, i dont want to buy a car that has been driven as hard as i would drive my car if i spent 1000s turbocharging it.

I know its riced, but its very, very fast and he wants to sell it for 14k instead of 27k. Trust me, at the drag it will be faster, thus its more performant.

Btw, this is what a '96 MK3 golf is worth here:

A VR6 costs around $4,500 here. Maybe with those mods $10,000 at max.

german company. german quality.

shit they dont make porsche boxsters in germany either, doesnt really matter the company is more important .
German quality? LOL, the pre-mk4 golf/jetta are the most unreliable cars that you can buy in NA. The concept is german, but the assembly is done by mexicans who get $2/hour.
yeah, no shit. I've had to put at least 250 bucks outside of the regular upkeep in my 98 vr6 with ~90k miles on it. that pile of shit is falling apart everywhere :icon27:

Just to make a comparison, a brand new 2005 Mustang GT is $33K CAD and a brand new WRX is $35K CAD here.

I'll never buy a fucking VW.
Saying things like that is the reason people think you're an idiot.

I drive a golf... :paranoid:
0-100 in 8 sec and top speed 230 kmh(it's set to 260, but i couldent push it more) is good enough for me.

edit*
The golf VR6 has more hp(170 i think) stock than my gti, but the vr6 has a catalysator so they loose some of the power... mine is older and less hp, but dosent have a catalysator..
The VR6 is heavier than the gti(1260 kilo vs 1100 )kilo and that also slows it down a tad.. the differance in accereralation and top speed is barely noticable between the two.

VR6 is more expensive both with parts and insurance...
Next car im buying will most likely be a golf vr6 or the new golf 4 16v.
