By the way, here's a golf tip -
If you are slicing, a quick fix is to move the ball forward in your stance, playing it off your front foot more, to give your hands more time to release and square the clubface.

your reading comprehension needs work man.

and thats a patchwork tip that doesnt deal with the fundemental problem.

If you really want to address the issue of a slice, the swing needs to be analyzed. A less "patchwork" fix is to work on getting an inside to out swing path on your downswing. Imagine standing on the face of a clock, with 12 o'clock pointing right down your target line, and 6 o'clock being directly behind you. On the downswing, think of swinging from 7 o'clock (coming from the inside), to 1 o'clock (to the outside). Also, think of releasing your left hand like you do when you throw a frisbee. This will help get it back to your address position. That, coupled with the thought of the inside to out plane, will hopefull help give square contact, if not a bit of a draw.

So, what is your most common mis-hit then? Everyone has at least one shot that is their 'trouble shot'.

Mine's a push. Not really a slice, but more a shot I block out to the right.

But my driver has been as good as every lately. It's putting that has been the bane of my existence. Not many three putts, but I can't capitalize on my birdie opportunities enough.

Well, after some abysmal putting, I took the original putter back and got this one -



Lines up a bit better, more upright. I also made a major change in my putting stance...so the improved putting could be attributed to that.

On an unrelated, or semi-related, note - I started discussing the probability of opening a sort of golf school with a friend. Something that would offer people the chance to use the latest and greatest swing training technologies and aides, etc. A small operation, maybe on enough land to have about 3 holes for practice....
We wouldn't be thinking of starting it for about another 4-5 years, but we will probably be looking into some of the basics (feasibility, demand in this location, etc..) in the next year. Who knows. I'd love to do this for a living (give golf lessons, etc.) but am still unsure
about whether or not I'd ever want to be a business owner...

sounds like it would be a lot of fun though, at least for awhile. make sure you REALLY love golf though- giving lessons or having to deal with horrid golfers could test you after awhile

How's your putting been lately Replicant? I started doing a little pre-putt routine during practice that seems to have worked really well to make sure my eyes are directly over the ball. I've also changed my putting stance significantly - I used to putt like Nicklaus - an open stance, kind of hunched over, but noticed it resulted in a number of missed putts off to the right, because the open stance made me come from the inside too much on the forward stroke since my shoulders were wide open to the target line. Today I started standing my upright, hands very close to my body, and it has improved my stroke almost automatically - it is 100% easier to keep the back and forward motions on the exact same track. I took a video of the putter head during a shot - I should show you what I mean. The putter goes back, has absolutely no movement left or right, and goes right back through. Helped a ton, and all it took was to stand more upright and get my hands closer to my body.
