Yeah agree not all drugs are in any danger of being in shortage. I don't think he gets that though. I don't think ALL drugs are like this though, it's likely some might be with the rainforest problem and all.

The point is thus: There are no CURRENT shortages. If the US keeps buying it MIGHT POTENTIALLY cause a problem when it comes to providing for Canadians. If - and ONLY if - there is a shortage the Canadians will keep it for themselves.

Yeah but not all drugs are made from chemicals that are rare. Some are common chemicals that will never be anywhere near rare that are simply reduced and combined with other common chemical elements to make a certain pill. I'm not saying this is 100% true for all drugs but I'm sure it's true for many. So it doesn't matter how many people want it there will always be enough. It's all synthetic.
