Jeebus FECKLING crust, why did I read that? My girlfriend just left for Africa yesterday, and I'm still waiting to hear from her. I guess I'll be having nightmares about that tonight.

They're no longer worthy of expending empathic energy on them, so they're just objects to be done away with basically.
Sorry, but "people" that commit acts like that deserve nothing more than swift execution. That's purely fucking animal behavior.

what i meant was that they dehumanize their enemies into objects that deserve no empathy.

I can see how my post was ambiguous.

comon, give (nonhuman) animals a bit of credit. When was the last time you saw a chimp mutilating and torturing its neighbours?

Perhaps not with the same intent, but I have seen chimps shred and eat smaller monkeys.

It sounds like some sort of ritualistic thing as well as primitive animal behaviour. Barf. One thing I never had any desire to do is eat kids.

superstition's a powerful thing. It allows people to believe any arbitrary thing, given the right circumstances.

Primates are mean sons of bitches. In fights over mating rights, tearing their opponents' bollocks off is not uncommon.

BTW Kracus did a good job of looking like a tard in this thread, didn't he?

There are tribes in, what, New Guinea, where you're pretty much allowed to kill and eat anyone who looks at you crosseyed, and it's considered culturally normal...since they must have been giving you the evil eye and eating them's the only way to get rid of the curse. Human empathy isn't really about understanding the other person, it's about understanding that their folks might come looking for you if you do something to them.
