Pi is a great movie. Requim For A Dream was ok but didn't really like it.

I'm a bit confused at exactly was going on, I'm gonna watch it one more time to figure it out. The beginning dialog was really unimportant, which is why the made it so hard to understand. They were just giving you an idea of how these guys dedicated their every waking moment to do one great thing.

I'm lost towards the end my mind was leading up to one thing and something different happened. Maybe we should discuss this in a few days and see what everyon thinks after they watch it.

The first time I watched it I had very little idea what was going on so I got online and read some posts. I can tell you exactly what happened now but only because I cheated.

Think of it like four Donnie Darkos inside of one movie.

What I got out of it was each time he went back to fix something he was already one step ahead of himself to foil the polt. or was it his partner the dark haired scruffy gut that kept messing things up?

A little of both. The dark haired dude had everything right the second time around but he went back a third time to make things perfect. At the same time the other dude went back a second time and when they both went back they realized they were copies of each other. So this time around the script changed a little and didn't match the earpiece.

But they also had to drug and trick the other versions of themselves so that they wouldn't figure out how to work the machine and use it.

I figured the dark haired guy was getting greedy and started doing things his partner the creator didn't like so they were racing each other back to stop each other form stopping each other :paranoid:

I got lost at the airport scene, and the french guy?

No the dark haired guy discovered it first. Go back to the first time they meet at the park bench; notice that he is wearing an ear piece?

The airport scene with the french guy involved dark haired guy copy number 2. The second copy of the dark haired guy ran into the third copy of the dark haired guy and decided to just leave. Supposedly he was building a gigantic machine in another country.

The Machinist was really good. I really enjoyed it.

The ending was most unexpected. :)

shit man.... thanks for the suggestion. i remember seeing a teaser posted here for that movie like 2 years ago or something.
i got most of it the first time through, you just have to smoke up before you watch a movie like that. also helps things fall into place when you have a like-minded high buddy to bounce ideas off of.
good movie though, i'll have to buy it for the collection.
