Mabye not ATM, but I have my brother on stand by most times. He's been a dedicated Linux user for quite some time now. He's one of the mods of the linux forum over at gfxOasis. I can hit him up or maybe get him to come over here.

You put your boot manager on the mbr? you might be better off using some other 3rd party boot manager if you have probs. i think lilo is kinda cuntish.

Dude for a first install you might want to try Mandrake just to get the feel. No hassle with the mbr. Pretty well set up GUI. Still takes a bit of getting used to but minimal hardware issues and LILO works great. Beginners yeah but I had relatively zero problems installing and running. Fixing to go to Arch Linux myself.

Ahh, I see. Never messed with Grub. Lilo always worked great for me even with a triple boot. Tried getting a hold of my brother, he seems to be asleep.

well i keep reading that the /boot needs to be on the same parition as my windows install.. for some reason i think i can get around that.. is there any GOOD 3rd party loaders? because honestly, its getting installed, its just not booting..

I was gonna use Linux once, but then got worried because it had an X in the title. I'm now using XP instead.

So, what do you nerds use Linux for? The only thing I can think of is perhaps for running a webserver, but why the fuck would you want to boot your server from a CD?
