I went on a School trip to Sachsenhausen 15 years or so ago. Very surreal touring it with a bunch of usually idiot kids, no one dicked around or misbehaved, it was a very moving experience.

The underground white tiled rooms, tiled operating tables and tiled catafalques where they carried out medical experiments were incredibly disturbing.

Visited several; Dachau, Theresienstadt, Auschwitz and one in France. Surreal & deeply disturbing is the right way to describe it, personally i think everyone should visit at least one of these camps in their lifetime, if only to witness the depths of human depravity - it's a sobering experience.

Just like in this case, other members have complained about the anti-semitism, both publically and in PM.

As said we're all here for the fun of it and when someone takes a joke so far that it ceases being funny we call each other on it. Like when people started ripping photos from your Facebook profile.

Bottom line. The jew remarks are funny only half of the time, if that. It bothers other members of the community. Thus I'm appealing to rational thought and asking that it gets toned down, and that Geoff shows the courtesy to do so. As we have shown when he himself asked for certain type of posts to stop.

anyway, i've toured Dachau a couple times. it's, predictably, depressing. i assume the death camps like Auschwitz/Birkenau (as opposed to concentration camps with a more mixed population) would be much worse.
