Compassion? I don't think anyone is advocating the torture of animals. Geoff also saved the fawn. The doe gutter herself on the fence in a fashion very similar to how someone might have prepped her to be butchered. How that offensive is beyond me.

YGP, there is just certain rules here on these forums and we have to abide them and enforce them. Posting certain material is just not allowed. Same thing with tits, vaginas and penises. All very natural things but it's still not allowed.

Aside from that, the whole argument about knowing where the meat you eat comes from is nonsense. There's nothing contradictory about enjoying a good steak but feeling uncomfortable with the imagery that comes with a butchery, nor does it disqualify you from eating meat.
But I guess that to a redneck such as yourself, who hunts game every weekend that idea is unfathomable.

it's just that using this URL and being the 'official' Quake 3 forum comes with certain rules to be followed, like not posting dicks, tits, cunts, or dead and ripped open fauna. nothing to do with 'offence'

I don't give a shit who deleted them. Manpiss said it was gore. Which makes him just as much of a nancy-boy as the dipshit who deleted the pictures. And you're the dumbfuck if you actually believe there is some kind of policy that specifically identified mortally wounded animals as prohibited material. Because truthfully it's nothing like "dicks, tits, cunts". This was a discretionary call by a weak individual. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'll tell you, I initially edited goof's post by putting the pics between spoiler tags. Didn't delete anything. Then when I saw the response by people, including people hitting the "report" button, I decided to remove the pictures altogether. If you're desperate to see 'em, you can still click through to Geoff's gallery using the baby pic and see the other pics there.


What seremtan said about the URL is true. We're still riding on id Software's legacy here so that comes with a few caveats. But even if that weren't the case, I still think the images don't belong on Q3W because it's in-your-face NSFW. Yes, we pretty much are all adults here, so I think we can all handle the pics and not start puking or something, just like we can all handle the occasional bare breast and vag. I would assume that most of us have seen those things up close in real life by now. However, I also think Q3W should remain a place that's predominantly safe to browse at work and that means that we have to stick to stuff that's generally socially acceptable, especially when it's embedded in a post with no prior warning.

If it wasn't for "www.quake3world.com" stopping us from doing so, we could open the flood gates for any content possible, but then I'm afraid people like Geoff would come with daily threads featuring mutilated babies and bukkake cumshots. Imagine what someone like Strangler would come with if he'd still post here.
