Hey, if you're looking for good charity causes to donate to may i suggest a donation to the poor-old-Ryoki-is-moving-house-this-year fund? It's a righteous cause i assure you, this wonderful fellow works in healthcare so he can sleep at night with a sound conscience (but gets paid a completely shit salary) and has a relationship with a lovely girl who works in education (and of course also has a shit salary). We'll spend the money very wiseley - on a new couch or something, or maybe a new fridge

I know rite, it's taking ages... new house and all of that, the deadline was moved up by the construction company, then moved back again (bunch of cunts). They're now saying september, used to be early july at one point
I could write a Kafkaesque novel about those guys, the way they treat their clients is completely ridiculous.... they could learn service tips from Soviet era bureaucrats.
It's nice to get a newly built place for a couple of very good reasons but there's several big fucking drawbacks as well, unsure if i'd do this again next time. Getting a house that already exists seems like a lot less hassle.

Nope, we didn't buy the ground itself (though the option was there and in the long run it's probably the wiser financial choice we found it far too expensive) and lease it instead from the city.
You're correct though, we did put an awful lot of money into it; mostly an inheritance from my side and a combined gift from both our families - it's the only reason we can afford this place really.
