Mat Linnett wrote:It starts out hard. Dodge lots, and buy a lot of food to restore your health while fighting. I'd say you'll probably start to feel comfortable around level 12-15, and from there on combat can become ridiculously easy.
For super-easy mode, even at the highest difficulty level, spec into light attack for Whirl and use the Ekhidna Decoction. This basically makes you indestructible, and completely removes the reliance on food and the Swallow potion.
Cool.

I'm not interested in making the game easier, so I'll probably ignore your super-easy mode advice...

Yeah, to be honest, I would too. However, past a certain point, no matter what, combat loses that edge of preparation, and just becomes easy mode no matter what you do.

The game's at its best when you feel that you've studied your enemy, prepared accordingly and then defeated them using your skill and wits. Unfortunately, unless you purposefully gimp your build, you will inevitably over-power everything in the game.
See, there's no level-scaling at all (well, apart from guards who always scale to be 5 levels higher than you).

It's always been a problem of Witcher games, and I kinda wish they'd abandon the levelling system altogether. They obviously don't know how to balance it properly.

So this was named Game of the Year.

Now that I've played Fallout 4, not sure that I agree. Witcher 3 was good, but I'm enjoying F4 much more...

What do you mean? I started playing W3 just a few weeks before F4 came out and really couldn't get into it. F4 has immersed me. Probably 50 hours in on F4...
