From the interview with people from Guerilla:
Is the Killzone sequence a fair example of what people can expect from realtime gameplay on PLAYSTATION 3?

Jan-Bart: Yeah, it's basically a representation of the look and feel of the game we're trying to make.
From here (gay flash site, the interview is in there somewhere):

In other words, very vague. "Representation" does not mean real-time in-game.

What i meant by Unreal tournament: The demo showed on the ps3, not the computer game that is out now

Here are a couple of clips that some one made up to show a couple of glitches in the killzone vid. Showing that it is in realtime, hence the graphical glitches. I so want to believe this is real time, but time will tell, Im very optimistic.

relating to DVD games;

YES.

Its so retarded that games are STILL not all coming out on DVD's... How is making a game box 97x the size of a normal box with 43 Cd's any cheaper than just a standard box with standard DVD?

And I know some of you will say "I dont have a DVD drive, i shouldn't have to buy one for a game!"

TOUGH

They have been standard for what, 10 years now, and they cost £8 to buy BRAND NEW. Deal with it, you only need to buy one.

However, its still cheaper to produce games on CD. Which is why producers who want a high profit margin produce them on CD.

Seriously man, drop the games anger...

I doubt that....unreal tournament looked the same as far as graphics and in the e3 presentation they went into a freezeframe and moved all around in it in real time.
plus the ps3 is extremely powerful. Is it so hard to beleive that it could render that as in-game? dammit???
Because it would be the most powerful game engine ever made and it would have been made by a company whos only other game is a dull generic console shooter.
that, much like the HUD arguement, fails to stand ground sir.
who were these guys who made the best looking and techically advanced engine of its time? what? 'id'? who are thaat.. some kids in a garage?

just cause you never heard of them or a previous game they made wasnt a multimillion dollar hit doesnt mean theyre not capable of creating something good. lookit croteam, they made a great engine as well, and before serious sam noone ever heard of them.

But we're not talking a 'good' engine here. We're talking the best to date.

Actually, the most technically advanced engine around at the time of DooM was made by Origin..... see Ultima Underworld and System Shock
