2D showings are far less frequent [only 2 or 3 per day] and resultantly more difficult to plan for if you're coordinating with multiple people. If you miss one, you'll either be waiting half a day for the next or be forced to watch the 3D version. They also tend to use their older, smaller, and shittier theatres for 2D whereas the 3D version gets the better rooms. You could skip the movie altogether I guess.

You must live in some backwater shithole, there's just as many 2D showings where I live and they're in the same cinemas.
Thick, solid and tight in all the right places.

For every 3D showing there's a 2D at our main cinemas.

Actually no, there isn't always a 2D version available. In fact, more often there isn't than there is. Maybe in your area they always have 2D versions available, but not where I live (yeah sure, retarded backwater area, etc, etc)

OK, let's play this game. What's your closest cinema? The main one in the CBD is the Event Cinema on George St I believe? Going with that for the moment.

3D Hotel Transylvania

Not a bad selection of times, let's lookup the same movie in 2D .. oops, not even available at this cinema in 2D. Always a 2D version to watch? Not so, it seems.

Let's move on anyway, and pick something for which there is a 2D version as well. Times for 3D Resident Evil:

Again, lots of time slots to pick from. And the 2D version:

Just as many? I hardly think so.

Let me know what cinema you do frequent, I'd be delighted to find a place where I can reliably find a 2D showing in this backwater shithole of Sydney. Truly.

milla's backside in spandex, yes she's getting on a bit now but i still think she's gorgeous. there's a great bit in this one where michelle rodriguez has just died and the music's gone a bit mournful - then the camera comes to rest on milla's wonderfully pert arse and everything is right with the world again.

beyond that, very little. the latest installment is easily the most incoherent bollocks that paul anderson has come up with so far. it makes that 3 musketeers thing he did look like shakespeare.

Don't. It was fucking terrible. I'm pretty loose when it comes to enjoying pop-corn flicks at face value, but the latest RE is just plain bad. Even the action is stupid.
