I find it hard to believe that anyone in the top ten of cycling isn't using as much as more than Armstrong. I actually feel sorry that he got caught.

If he's using gear, and the nine below him aren't, then those nine below will invariably be passed by whichever nine below them are using. It's simple logic.

Which is why sports top tens will always be dominated by nine drug users and possible one freak genetic anomaly.

And the thing is, he hasn't been caught. A bunch of people (including former team mates) were willing to testify against him, but he has never been tested positive. Now, I'm not saying I believe he is clean (because I don't), but the fact he has been tested hundreds of times without any positive results should have (legally) trumped any half-assed statement by a former team mate holding a grudge.

As I understand it, a blood sample taken in 2001 recently tested positive for EPO. I think that's where this initial investigation began.

No question the guy's arrogance has sheared an enormous amount of respect from his status and accomplishments. He snubbed a lot of local mountain bike race communities after coming in and destroying the legends at their own game a few times by not even showing up to receive his medal the next day . I'm still inclined to overwhelmingly admire the fact that, well... if you've ever known anyone who was down with cancer (the shit was even in his brain at some point) ... he fucking WON a challenge as impressive as the TOUR post-recovery. Remarkable.

I'm not saying he cheated and I'm not excusing him if he did but at least he's done some good with his celebrity.
