As soon as I heard the news I thought he might have been diagnosed with something terminal. It would seem very out of place for someone that old and successful to take his own life without any real reason.

Apparently his family is coming out saying he wasn't diagnosed with a tumor.

I have often wondered if jumpers look before they actually leap?
Morbid thoughts maybe
Imagine jumping from a bridge only to land on a ship passing underneath and landing in a heap of wheat or in a mess of tubes on an oil tanker? Suppose you could actually hit a passenger ferry carrying people and kill a number in the impact.
Jump from a high building only for the wind to carry you to the roof of another.
Jump from a clifftop only to be caught in tress/foliage metres down.
I have said to a "would be" suicidal person, be sure not to muck it up otherwise you'll wake in a wheel chair (para/quadriplegic).
That would (may) be worse than death

he was the stunt double jumping off the bridge, unfortunately some die, like the stunt dood in expendables 2
