At least Battlefield 3 looks stunning and has the most intense combat of any game ever made. Deus Ex 3 has no redeeming qualities or you'd surely have mentioned them amirite?

DX:HR had a great story that made up for its other shortcomings and the gameplay was ok. It seems like you value BF3's graphics above all else yet tore into Deus Ex for its design. Moron alert?..

Ah, i can fiddle with FOV in settings ingame? I looked for it in the menu but must have missed it, will look again when i get home. Also, will mess around with the other stuff you mention. Funny that you mention stuttermouse, mine is not stuttering but instead going WHOOOSH when i drag it, like my character is on some kind of high grade stimulant.

I recognize the bits you talk about, they pissed me off to no end as well, lol. Especially the bit with the L shaped room and the breakable wall and three guys behind it, what the fuck was that about? That whole bit is just inexcusable in several ways.

Maybe the story is good like Mazda claims, but since the game is failing to make me identify with my character and is actively frustrating me with it’s lazy, akward gameplay i’m not giving much of a damn about it so far. Doubt i will play it through, unless the setting changes do a lot for me.

Turning off VSYNC fixes the mouse. Or just set Maximum Pre Rendered Frames to 0/1 in your nvidia control panel. It's a good idea to do that for most games actually, assuming you have a decent PC.

It'a a very, very good PC port in my opinion. Full DX11 support, adjustable FOV slider, a proper PC-style HUD/item menu. Very few companies put the effort into doing it right, but these guys did. Sorry you didn't like the game and there's no point playing something you don't enjoy, but as probably the biggest DX fanboy on this forum, I think they nailed the spirit of the original very very well. Much better than the original devs did for the sequel, thats for damn sure.

Oh and regarding level design, don't judge it until you get to Hengsha. That is one of the most beautifully designed levels in any game i've ever played.

You can horde as much as you want in your apartment. Just remember that later in the game you won't return to your sexy-time shack, so you'll have to actually manage your inventory when it's time to go back to China.

Here to report that the FOV slider and switching off the vsynch made a boatload of difference, this game is now actually playable.

Still annoyed at retarded AI, goofy physics and wank leveldesign, but i'll keep playing it, maybe.

Yeah you really need to turn off Ambient Occlusion and SSAO for smooth framerates on mid-range PC's. Even then you'll still get stuttering.

People struggled with DX:HR's framerate? I thought the general consensus was that it was very well optimised and ran smoothly on even shitty computers?

I mean my i7/gtx580 coped just fine. I CAN'T UNDERSTAND THIS.

yeah, that was kinda the point :)

anyway, the only issue i had was microstuttering, which was fixed when vsync was disabled. that video you linked looks more like a caching issue. didn't dx:hr use massive multi-gb files for streaming? without crawling through all those pages, did any of them with SSD's have the same issue? like i say, it was smooth as silk for me during the whole game. one of the most bug-free games i've played in recent years actually.
