I'd love to be there when you tell her parents: "guys, I'm 17 and up the duff; but don't worry about it, the guy responsible's going to join the army, so he won't be around for the next three years."
BTW, though, just to warn you, there's a good reason why traditionally you don't spread the word on this sort of thing in the first trimester.

shes 18, her father was in the military and he suggested i join, they know we had been sleeping together before this.

well, from what i understand, or have been told is i'll go away for 5 months of training. have time off until the child is born and then i will be sent to whereever. hopefully kept in canada. if i am then we already plan for her to move on base with me for the first few years anyways

didn't read that your ambitions for the next few years as as high as military service...i don't know how canada works, but in the US the costs of delivering the child are astronomic. i'm sure your military paycheck will be sufficient to pay for all the costs of a child for the next 3 years, plus your gf...and yourself. congrats nonetheless

costs nothing. canada doesnt have an anal medicare system.

what kind of mechanic? air force mechanic or army? that could teach you some pretty cool skills...
so what are your plans after the military?
