I played about 2 hours worth of Bioshock 2, and I am completely bored with it. If you played the original Bioshiock, then there is really nothing new to see here. the mouse sensitivity is buggy and changes on you in mid game, the graphics are starting to look outdated, plus the posters, audio tapes and such, just scream "been there done that".
I'm guessing alot of games are going to feel uninspired and dry compared to Mass Effect 2.
Fuck you Bioware for ruining the rest of my gaming experiences

agreed bioshock 2 is like an add on pack...boring...
been playing me2 for a while and it just seems like mostly dialogue and reading...boring...does that change at some point in the game?...if not gay...

Yeah I am about an hour into B2 and feel bored with it. I think it is ME2's fault for being so awesome.

completed it. great game actually and i think i even prefer it to the first one, even if it is pretty much a carbon copy in the gameplay and graphic stakes.
collectors box is sexy as hell.

yeah unfortunately it doesn't get any better in that respect... there's way too much drama going on and not enough action...would be perfect with a little less of that and a alot more ass kicking.
I like a plot as much as the next gamer but Mass Effect (even though done well) goes overboard.

I see a lot of complaints about Bioshock 2 being too similar to the first game, but how is this a bad thing? Bioshock was one of the best, if not the best game of the past three years.
I've bought the game yesterday evening but haven't gotten around to playing it yet.

Just in: Alan Wake has been given a May 21st release date for Europe
The US gets the game 3 days earlier, at May 18th.

Main problem for me is that I've forgotten good chunks of the first game, so this slips right back into it with a load of relevance that I can't connect to anything.
Still, very nice. Slightly overhauled graphics and the water sections are cute. Haven't got far enough to give it a fair go yet.

Well I completed it last night... I won't be playing SP again, lets put it that way...
The game suddenly got quite good near the end and turned into a more story driven game, but to be honest on the whole it was worse than the first... So basic, so much now a straight up shooter...

Maybe it is ME2 thats made games feel boring lol, wouldn't shock me...
But the ending... Man... After the AMAZING twists and turns the first gave, this one was TURRIBLE. I won't spoil it, but lets just say there are no twists, no turns, no anything... The game just kinda "ends" during a fight with a few baddies... Gay...
Is it bad its too much like the first one? Yes. The first was amazing, but this seems like a step backwards. Add to that the graphics haven't changed at all, not one bit, and the story is worse, and it really comes off feeling cheap...
Shame... But the game hints at Bioshock 3 being "out of water" and on land, so maybe... Just maybe... BS3 will be different...

Coincidentally, I never finished playing Bioshock because I was playing Mass Effect 1 at the time and it bored the shit out of me.
I haven't yet played it, should be done dling in a few hours, but I think I'm probably going to keep playing Mass Effect 2 instead.

That's pretty fucking lame. As well, the Unreal 3 engine is beginning to show its age.
A couple of hours in, just a few thoughts:
This feels more like an expansion pack than a new game. The jump from outer space [System Shock 2] to underwater city [BioShock] was brilliantly executed. They maintained the intense feeling of isolation almost perfectly. They need a new setting now, the real question is: where?
The dumbing down is painful, of course. I blame consoles, but without the console market they may not have even made the game. Something is better than nothing, even though it does sort of piss on its own legacy.
Still a fun shooter

speaking of consoles saving the gaming industry, why the fuck none of the new pc releases support anti aliasing?
wtf is up with that? I was under the impression that it was a type of thing to be handled by the graphics card and the DirectX version respectively...why are we not allowed to AA shit anymore?
Am I missing out on something? I try to force AA through my video card settings but MA2 and Bio2 simply ignore it.

Some of them still support full AA.

some of them do not include the two games I've mentioned right?
is this because consoles dont do AA, so they just say the hell with it?

Yeah, pretty much. Contrary to popular belief, pc gaming is far from dead. It's just moved from retail stores to digital download. I guess some developers tend to ignore that fact. This is one game that I will wait for the price to drop considerably before buying. I enjoyed the first one quite a bit, but this one looks to be a repeat.

On the other hand, I'm playing Stalker COP with AA and it looks great. Of course it's a PC only release.

Much as I don't like to admit having no skills in an FPS game, I've got BS2 set to medium difficulty and am getting completely raped at the first adam collection sequence. The difficulty seems all whack, especially coupled with LOL GAYED MOUSE ACCEL
;(

First of all, its UE 2.5, not 3
Second of all, both the PS3 and 360 do AA, only its only the 360 really that bothers to use it most of the time because they get the effect nearly for free, opposed to the PS3 which its more expensive to use.
Lastly, with regards to why some PC games dont let you change AA, its just really piss poor UI designers just not adding the option. Hell, AVP doesn't even let you turn off the god awful motion blur. So, just turn AA on/off in your control panel instead. Maybe not as elegant, but works the same.

You must be REALLY poor... BS1 and BS2 are some of the easiest FPS games I've played; And I played BS2 with xPadder using my 360 pad so I could relax. I went right in with hard mode and no chambers for the two chevos, and it was a cake walk. The odd time it was tricky (first little sister fight with nothing to use against her) you could just quick save/quick load, making the whole point of the chambers pointless

perhaps it is that adaptive difficulty thing? afaik, the game gets harder the longer you survive or something along those lines...
i just turn it off and played on regular. i died about twice in the whole game and that was because i forgot to use the medkits mid-fight heh.
add vito chambers to the mix and it isn't a very challenging game imo.
