Wet weather effects at night looks pretty amazing. Driving in a blizzard also looks pretty convincing, and racing at night at Le Mans should be quite an experience http://www.gametrailers.com/video/tgs-1 ... smo/704776
wtf, it looks shit . I know it's a driving game and they'll be zooming past at 150, but surely we've evolved past those trees, they're barely a step up from sprites.

woah now, The main focus is on the car and track models, and to me those are stunning...
The First raining night shot that they show is nothing short of amazing, But i cant help to feel The other shots with Concrete walls looks... plastic.
p.s. you also missed the 2D people beside the track
Gotta love the rain on the floor, even though its just a damn simple masked env trick it still looks great. The way the snow/water hits the window is spot on, too.
But jebus, whats with the static 2d cut outcrowd still? You put all that effort into making the cars have millions of polygons, then you skimp out on really obvious stuff? Also, the motion blur in this game is letting it down big time, becaus it makes the cars 100% perfect in focus yet the world blurred, but that isn't how motion blur works, so it gives the impression of the cars hovering over the track.
Not that any of the above matters. I'll still think the game plays like wank, and there will still be people who claim its the most amazing experience ever.
Actually, I played a RC in 3d on the 8th at a Sony expo, as well as Killzone 3 in 3d and Motor Storm in 3d (neither of which were supposed to be shown at all, so was a nice bonus). Thats about as close as you'll get to an actual final copy. It doesn't take a huge leap of imagination to know that the crowd being unanimated 2d plains won't be changing any time soon. Pixel and fragment programs can change in a heart beat, meaning the motion blur could, in theory, change, however the likelyhood of that happening at this stage is unlikely at best as it isn't strictly an issue with the method, more so the hardware implementation (which is restricted by the way nvidia chose to add hardware dof/blur. ATi don't have that issue, but are a total cunt to work with because they love to make up standards on the spot just to be different.)
Sorry welshie.
BTW, the 3d effect is... Good. Tiring, but good. Its a shame that it totally fucks up if you have two players or if one player is off to the side, as he can't see anything at all... Not fun. But single player is cool.
All GT games have played like shit since years back. The game I played was exactly the same.
In fact, it was even worse than normal. You can sit there in welshland all you like and say I'm wrong, but until you see just how poor the game handles damage, you just won't know.
But my points remain... There are parts of the game that are stunning, there are parts that are quite poor, there are parts average, and the gameplay is pretty wank, as per usual for the later installments of the series. If you REALLY expect that to change in the next month, even though they have have 10 years to get it right, you need to wake up, Mr Freeman...

Geography fail, Gamestop is in the US, not the UK. Also, total fail as I haven't worked in retail in a LONG time. But keep it up sir, I'm sure what I do can never beat your YouTube acting career or drawing ability.
What are people moaning about? The game looks fantastic and it's probably very cool. It's just a joke that it's been delayed almost as much as Duke Forever but oh well. Shame it's on PS3 though.

They also have them in Ireland. Just sayin'.
Also, I greatly enjoyed GT 1 and 2 (never had a chance to play any others). I'm sure I'll enjoy this one as well since I actually have the ability to enjoy games for what they are - games.
What's with you nitpicking about 2D crowds? That just makes the game have some humor and character. Besides, what do you want 3D crowds for? This isn't "The Sims".
