holy LOL shit on the ending of ep.10 :ducky:

btw I still think this is the weaker of the 3 seasons up to now, and I doubt even with a wtf ep.10 ending and 2 more installments will change that.

really? i didn't really like any of the major themes of season 2
1. I hated lila
2. dexter made stupid moves
3. david caridine + dexter's sister was lame

granted this season is pretty much a re-do; but I do think fat-boy jimmie smitts is a much better version of the lila plot.

SPOILERS up to and including s03e10.

k agreed that there is something special about this season or atleast it is now starting to show just about in the end, after all dexter material is always tops. However I feel that learning about who dexter is in season one was simply great...and the second season was also special because it was all eyes on him! And the fact that there was real at last confrontation and resolution between him and dokes was good stuff, because their interactions where so buttered up and anticipated in the first season.

But this third season IMO took away from what is dexter, it took the audience idea of him and most likely what they liked about him and put it all out in the open which is somewhat unsettling, you know the whole 'lone wolf' deal and all.
However that in it self makes for good television I guess.

I'm actually not sure what pisses me off about this season most, maybe it's the new faces that I don't like... I feel like his buddy prado is just off putting in this setting, and until ep. 10 I was scratching my head to figure out why more than the first half of the season ended up being all about some fucking imported mexican who was skinning people up.

(however I did have a suspicion that the skinner was actually working for prado, but my logic told me it could not be so because prado would have called the dogs off after he found out that freebo was dead. Which makes prado's character even more sinister right now as I don't understand why he is still keeping the skinner employed and killing innocent people....I guess prado changed his plans on the fly about the skinner but that only became apparent by the end of this last episode ...hmm could it be a plot hole? I hope not.)

i don't think the skinner was in his employ until the 9th episode; letting him loose from police custody and having a private conversation with him in the interview room beforehand.
up until then the guy hadn't been doing anything useful to prado. just looking for feebo for personal reasons.
I do agree the setup for prado was pretty weak and anoying at times... though i'm interested to see if he's going to tell him he killed his little brother or if the hot-head prado brother is going to make killing miguel more interesting.

Great episode.

MORE SPOILERS:

Dexter wanted to know if MP was going to kill again, and he baited him into saying it pretty well. Dexter's very next step was going to be going after MP (now that he meets the conditions of the 'code'), until what happened at the end there.
I actually thought the skinner might be working for MP's crazy brother -- Miguel already knew Freebo was dead, so he wouldn't have any reason to benefit from the guy's efforts.
Between the skinner, MP and his brother, these last two ought to be an interesting couple of episodes.

lol @ faggots whining that latter seasons aren't as compelling as the previous ones. That's the way it works homos. This season still owns so stop fucking crying.

I think when Miguel "let the skinner go" in one of the previous episodes, he had one thing on his mind: why let the law take care of this, when my new best buddy Dex and I can take care of the skinner in a much more satisfying way.

Just watched episodes 9 and 10.
Wow, good stuff. Really strong season, certainly better than season 2.

SPOILERS:

Didn't expect Miguel to use The Skinner against Dexter.
Don't know what his intentions are, but getting Dexter killed isn't a smart move;
Obviously Dexter isn't a retard. Quite the contrary; he's a compulsive planner, so will have contingency plans for just about all feasible scenarios.
And in case of his 'untimely demise' he will have left a trail to the evidence (ring) linking Miguel to Ellen Wolf's death.
Of course, Miguel doesn't *know* this, but, not being a retard himself, can't risk that.
So yeah, curious how that's goint to pan out.

Also, maybe I missed something, but is Quinn off the Internal Affairs' hook?
I remember something vague about him getting another cop killed, and IA (in the form of this Yuki chick he had a relationship with) trying to nail him, but that storyline seems to have kind of died off.

Great show, really well written, performed and directed (John Dahl occasionally directs, says it all, really).
Still has longevity left in it, hopefully at least a couple more seasons' worth.

Don't forget that Laguerta is now putting two and two together about Prado's whereabouts on the night of her friend's death and his SUV's bright headlights. She may play a role in saving Dexter's ass and he may be able to pin everything on Miguel.

Yea I considered that, but it would be way too cookie-cutter from the last season with Doakes. I'd be pretty disappointed if they pulled another almost-got-caught-so-blame-all-the-killings-on-the-guy-with-an-out-of-control-temper-and-everybody-buys-it.

I wouldn't be disappointed.
Sounds like a plausible outcome that wraps everything up nicely, and keeps Dexter going.
The fact that we may have put it all together, already, doesn't take anything away from its elegance, imo.
I could live with every Dexter season ending in similar fashion.

Yeah, the guy kidnapping dexter in the end, is it the skinner or could it be for the bachelor party?

Just rewatched it, doesn't look like those are the skinner's hands, and it's definitely not his car. So bachelorparty kidnapping here? I feel bad for the one who has to release him.

then I'm glad I didn't watch it... I don't really like previews as they usually take away some of the speculation.
