Wipeout was probably the most fun I've ever had with a racing game. I don't know if the new version for the PSP is faithful to the original feel or not. The sense of speed in that game was simply amazing.

You have got to go around a track, the track has 3 zones. Once you get past 1 zone, you ship gets quicker. Basically keep going thru the zones and you get quicker and quicker and quicker til ur energy runs out n u die

The PSP is pretty much the same overall as the DS just with filtering... I would rather play fun touch screen mini games than age old racing games and over priced DVD's anyways

o'dium.
Thats utter shit and you know it. The DS has a gimmick which is the touch screen. The PSP is just class. I have played both for a long time and the PSP blows the DS out of the fucking universe. And yes the touch game are fun...for about 2 hours. Then its the same old thing. Warioware was the best thing i had played for ages for about 2 hours then it got boring FAST.
So all in all your view is one that i will choose to ignore as, and this has been said many time, its shit and usless.

Its a fucking ugly PS2. Its not as powerful as a PS2. Its life lasts for a few hours. It has shite games that you can either get on a PS2 or wouldn't want to buy anyways.
Face it.
Its all the shit stuff from a PS2, in portable form. With no battery life. Woo.

Just so u can see the quality o'dium.
No i dont remember this being over priced DVD (£26 inc delivery)
and its one of the most challenging and
fun games i have played for a long long time.

Ill give you that the game above DOES look different. But how is that something that can only be done on a PSP?
Also, who was it that said games have to look good to play good?
Good looking games i can play for 10 hours with fun as hell mini games on a system that FORCES devs to do something different OWNS great looking games I can play for 3 hours with boring as fuck PS2 stuff.
BTW, dont go pressing that Square button in too hard

If gameplay lasts 2 hours before its old, repetative and boring?
Game play Ridge Racer, with tracks from all the previous games
and cars so u can have all the fun and frollocks of the original
looking 10x better in tha palm of your hand. 4 hours of gaming
on my psp so far and it is looking low. I give it another 30 mins
before it dies...? Is it really THAT bad for what u get? :icon26:

Ridge Racer?
Hold on... Wasn't you just having a go for me liking MARIO which is old? lol
Come on dude.

Well Ridge Racer V isnt that old?
Mario DS is Mario 64.
Ridge Racer PSP is a mixture of
all the games.
Mercury beats any DS game i have played
Luminies is fantastic and beat any DS game i have played
Wipeout Pure is brilliant and beats any DS game i have played
are we seeing a patern here?

Let me get this straight, i'm being told to shut up because gameplay > graphics in my book, and that i would rather play a great game like mario 64 over a REALLY SHIT game like Ridge Racer? I played 5 seconds of ridge racer and thought "is this it?".
Wooooooooooooooow... How things change here. You still can't have your own oppinion on things...

That game looks like a lot of fun :icon14: (mercury that is)
The DS is a lot of fun though, and I don't feel it's touchscreen is just a gimmick.
Everybody seems to rant about controlling Mario with the touchscreen, but it's really easy and feels very natural. No analogue stick needed

I think, while on the train, Id rather play some classic levels of Mario that I love rather than wait for loading times to play a mediocre, although beautiful racing game. Im on the train..I dont need graphics that I can get at home. Im just looking for a quick, fun fix. It seems that the Japanese agree with me.
Anyway, I think Sony missed the point with the P$P.

I agree, mostly because of the totally useless movie-playing function and the lack of Internet surfing capability.
Edit:
Actually, surfing the Internet is something my phone should be able to do and probably will be very soon. My phone also has an MP3-Player.
So I guess my point is: I'm not gonna carry more than one electronic device with me at any given time. Either integrate it into the phone, or I won't use it.

Could the PSP ever emulate DS games?

No, not powerful enough.
edit: also any game utilizing touch screen functionality would...er...not work out.
