Unfortunately, all of the finger pulp (gunky bit that makes the tip of the finger soft) and most of the skin were still wrapped round the saw blade. He'd also aerosolised most of the bone of his distal phalanx (bit beyond the last joint). On x-ray, the bone loss was really impressive - It wasn't hacked up or broken, it just wasn't there.

Because of that, he needed referral to the plastics to have the end of his finger taken off completely - if you've done that much damage, that's the way you get the best functional result.

Ugh. Losing limbs is the worst injury one can have. I'd rather die than lose a limb.

i think fucking your spine is by far the worst

and i have this major paranoia about loosing my teeth, vision, hearing... if i ever get knocked in the head or had a bit of a mishap, the 1st thing i do is make sure those 3 things are were they belong and work :ninja:
