Isn't a consistent 140/90 borderline hypertensive?

Yeah, but try to crank down the blood pressure too far on someone who's been hypertensive for a while and they'll fall over a lot. Risks and benefits.

I'm quoting UK guidelines though, yanks are generally more aggressive (for no good reason, really)

In the US, that is stage 1 hypertension. Borderline here is pretty much anything close to 130/90

2 days of a low calorie, very low sodium diet with just 1 cup of coffee(cuz my head hurts too much without it) and it's down to 140/100...i think i'm salt sensitive or something...
