Mind you, I'm running everything maxed at 1920x1200 with no slowdown at all.
The only difference between this and most xbox360 titles graphically as far as I'm concerned is the complete lack of OTT bloom effects.
Not really a bad thing to be honest.
And as for the netcode, I've had it crap out on me a couple of times, but other than that it's been incredibly smooth.
The only thing I don't like about QW's network implementation is the in-game server browser, which just flat out lies about server populations. But that can be remedied with ASE...

That "Server is full" thing is an acknowledged issue, it's a bug in the server's reporting to the master server.

Aaaah, right.
Regarding bugs, had a rather horrifyingly scarey one on the server I was playing on yesterday.
During the warmup, one of the other players called in a Dark Matter cannon strike, and after warmup had finished, the green marker stayed in place, making you think that a strike was imminent every time you spawned.
This stayed there over the course of several map restarts and was joined by another one later on.

I don't think the netcode is that great, but according to SD, they're working on anti lagged, and some other good stuff.

I thought specs came up when installing, and it was something like:
Pentium 4, was either a 3GHz or a 3.2GHz (think it was the 3.2GHz with AMD 3200+ equivilant)
Nvidia 6600GT (can't remember the ATI equivilant)
1GB RAM
Anyway, as for net, it seems pretty good. There was an annoying Icarus spawn camper jumping around the hill-side GDF deployment, and I seemed to be able to shoot it fairly well by aiming at it normally with the assault rifle.

fair play, but am guessing (and apologies if I'm wrong) that you don'tplay on an HDTV?
honestly - I really don't know how you can say that tbh m8 - its blander than BF2142 which imho looks like utter shite - granted the player models etc look nice - but the environments just look totally low res and washed out to me - dunno mebbe am missing summit (very probable tbh)-
anyhoo - horses for courses - if its your bag furrymuff init

I haven't had any problems with the netcode at all so far. Even with plenty of people and projectiles in view I haven't had a bit of lag.
I had a pretty steady 60-ish ping on the servers I was playing last night.
One thing that has been frustrating, is remembering what it's like to play a team-based game on pubs. Haven't done that in a loooong time until now. >=\

I had to fucking buy my key because I ended up working every time they released the keys.
And here are some beta preformance tests.

I am happy I waited 5 years before I bought my new PC last week. The prices are lot cheaper then they used to be, for the processor, hdd, ram, video cards, everything. 120FPS here I come

Interesting. I need to turn on cg_drawfps (forget the cmd in the D3 engine).
I'm running a 7800GT, 1680x1050 @ high settings. (AMD X2 3800, 1gig ram)
I'm probably not getting very good framerates, but according to that chart, I would expect to get around 35 or 40.
What surprises me is that I don't see any video stuttering at all. With my system, I really expected to have to drop the video settings for it to be enjoyable at all, but that hasn't been the case.
This pleases me.

I believe the command to show the fps was com_showfps 1 or com_drawfps 1
Does anybody know the command to unlock the max fps? It looks like I'm capped at 30 fps because no matter what video settings I have it on it stays stuck on there.
I'm running two 7300GT 128MB DDR3 32bit cards, a AMD 64 X2 4200+ processor, and 2 gigs of ram. I have the video settings on the highest I can put them at 1024x768 (yeah I could go higher but I just like that resolution

) and have 8x antialiasing going on and still running buttery smooth at 30fps.
I'm still curious as to what I can max the fps out to though on normal settings.

mien is capped at 60, and wasent the only way to uncap the fps in D3 was to run the game in Developer mode?

com_unlockfps 1
com_unlockmaxfps xx or someshit. you want to increase it by multiples of 30.

Indeed, thank you Doomer.
AmIdYfReAk, I thought it would make sense that the game would be capped at 60fps and was surprised to see my fps constantly at 30fps no matter what settings I put it on.
I finally got it to
drop to 10 fps when I turned on shadows :icon26:
So I'll be playing in a shadowless world

Take a look

com_unlock_timingMethod seems to be the important part.

Actually Amidy, I know a console command that will get rid of the cap.
com_fixedtic -1

I NEED HELP!
my fancy new MX revolution mouse doesn't want to work in QWET
after a few seconds the mouse pointer just slides towards the bottom of the screen, no matter what it feels as if there is a directional button stuck to the down position
Even when I turn the mouse switch to 'off' (underneath) the mouse cursor still keeps sliding to the bottom of the screen..
I have updated the mouseware but no luck, I knew better than to buy something so fresh on the market but I couldn't help myself

HELP MY WORLD IS COMING TO AN END and stuff...
thanx

if you're using the crappy logitech drivers, uninstall them and just use the standard windows ones
