The pearl is pretty nice. I've been strapped with a blackberry for a few years now and it is by far the best one yet.

You can set them up to receive personal e-mail as well. Or you can set e-mail notifications on vibrate/silent and easily ignore all e-mails. I'll admit, originally I was opposed to the idea of a blackberry. However, it is a huge convenience since I work support.Doombrain wrote:i turned down a BB phone. who the fuck wants emails from work, after work?

It' sucks living life for email, but it is more convenient than checking your email at a computer every hour...

I have mine setup to forward my hotmail account at the moment. The nice thing is that it only concerns itself with my inbox which is set to pre-approved access only. But I really don't need to know if blockbuster is sending me my next movie or if someone wants to be my friend on facebook at all hours of the day so I will be turning off the service.
Just because you have a blackberry, doesn't mean you have to get your emails with it.

Haven't had time to try RDM+ but I've seen it used before and its pretty slick when you quick access to a server.

Yea, remote desktop into servers would be one of the biggest reasons I got any kind of smart phone.bitWISE wrote:http://www.shapeservices.com/en/products/details.php?product=im

It could save me having to find internet access and break out the laptop when something comes up.

Re: So I got the Pearl
I found 2 gems for the pearl.
Colorpearl
OTA Install = http://www.geekandproud.net/blackberry/ ... rpearl.jad
Desktop Install= http://www.geekandproud.net/blackberry/ ... rpearl.zip
Allows you to change the color of the trackball on your BlackBerry Pearl.
You can also do custom colors and the look is pretty awesome. some colors change as you move your berry around.
Note: The BlackBerry 8800 and Curve/8300 do not have the colored LEDs behind the trackball, so there is no way to make ColorPearl work on them.
To enable/disable and set the color, go to Options->ColorPearl.

iPhone Theme
Iphone theme with the clownfish background
OTA Install = http://rogersmj.com/download.php?name=b ... e_Icon.jad

Re: So I got the Pearl
I'm running Windows Mobile 5 on my BlackJack, and I've had a really hard time finding any way to connect it to work.
If I could find a VPN client (that connects directly to a Windows VPN server, PPTP), and an RDP client I would be pretty happy. But either I don't know the terminology of what I'm looking for, or I'm not looking in the right place, because I can't find anything. I read somewhere that there was a VPN client built into Windows Mobile 5, but if it is I can't find it.
I would think a PPTP connection to a Windows VPN server would be a free client, either included in Windows Mobile (like it is on Windows PC OS's), or a free download somewhere.
Has anybody else tried this and had any luck?

More nice pearl gear
MicroSD card 2 or 4 GB
No software needed turns your Blackberry into a mass storage device when connected via USB or bluetooth.
on board MP3 player sounds pretty good (no EQ) so for an all in one solution and you can get the adapter on eBay for about $10.00 so you can use any headphones you wish. (445) Seidio Audio Adaptor - 8100 Pearl /8800/8820/8830 Sounds awesome with My perdy B&O earbuds.

Also works great for the following tasks:
