And if that's the case, the game's style; its art direction, the graphics (of course), the sounds; the general presentation -- they're all pretty much at the highest calibur I've ever seen in a pc game. The only other single player game that even could hope to compete in that area is Half-Life 2, which I also like very much.
But since it was designed, in part, to appeal to the masses, you have to endure quite a lot of really retarded parts in the game. For instance, walking into fifty different rooms where everybody in there is like, "Well what the F! It's GOOORDAN FREEMAN!!" and all that garbage. The way the characters behave is pretty Disney sometimes.

But anyway, that's OT. My point is, DOOM 3 owns pretty dang hard. And even though the expansion wasn't completely created by id, I completely expect it to carry on the excellence of the first game.
