depends which institution they go into..

i was in a minimum security one and worked in the kitchen for 4 months without any problems then got paroled.

if they get something like penetang which is full of injins and drunks they better watch out hard

I don't think minors can get jail time (the two 17-year olds) in Canada. I could be wrong about that though; if they can, I'm pretty sure it's rare. On the other hand, the 18 year-olds are fair game..

Maybe she got separated from her friends? Maybe she didn't realize she would get that drunk? Maybe her friends went in different directions and didn't realize she was in that bad a shape? Lots of things could have happened.
