my mate when we were in school

he had a stutter and used to go to speech thingy twice a week, everytime he done well his mother bought him a ps1 game and i couldve fucking killed him, done shit in school and in the end he gets the business off his old man

then you got my other mate who inherited the business of his old man, now he is like the richest kid i know now.... hes got a brother which lives round the corner from me in a scruffy shithole, scrounging to make a living, everytime he comes to town with us he forces his brother to walk behind him

now i think that is rude as fuck and its gutting to see him get everything off his parents when his brothers like that

ive had my words but he just throws a strop and tells me i dunno wha its like... lol

heh, not sure if I'd set the bar that high, but it is a good way to tell the men from the boys. I have a lot of customers that I would call rich and still 95% take out loans to buy their toys. If you can make 10 percent on your money and only have to pay five and a half on a loan, why tie your money up in a house, yacht, lambo or whatever?

I have one customer I have watched spend almost a million in cash for stuff he really doesn't even use. Great guy too, treats me like an equal everytime, though at this point I think he likes my gf a lil better than me. (must be the knockers)

We own a family buis and bank around 1.2 mil a year and people say I am rich. No im not rich my parents and grandpa is rich. I have to sell illegal drugs to get money. I got about 12,000 last year in allowance and got bout 10,000 from my retail buis. Right now I have 23 dollars in my pocket...well not actually in my pocket but on my dresser. All in all it doesnt matter how much you made or make because you have to pay so much god damn bullshit that you are broke Monday-Thrusday.

Shit, you can barely afford a 200K home on 50K a year. And 200k wont get you much of a home.

uh no...he got it right....his parents are rich.

"my dad can beat up your dad" :S

i guess my dad can be considered rich.. he's a modest millionaire. and i was always taught i'd get nothing for free.. work for yer money n stuff.

wasnt always like that though.. 10 years ago he was flat broke :)

myself, i make above average a year, and so does my girlfriend. wouldnt say we're rich though. just dont have to worry that much about cash.

$150K is definately not rich. I'd have to say around $250K or so.

I think you need to earn £250k (about $400k US dollars) a year in the UK to officially be a millionaire.

if you ever have to ask what the price of something is... or check your bank ballance.
you're not rich.

rich is defined by: having enough money to buy anything, anytime. If I had to put a number on it, i'd say a two comma income and a bank account that never goes below 7-digits would do.

to correct an earlier statement about people making xxx/yr being "wealthy" :
wealth is defined by net worth, not income.
eg: bill gates is wealthy; star athletes and movie stars are rich.
when your money keeps making more money to the point where generations after you die will still be making money off it... you're wealthy.

I also think the term of being "rich" is to simply get anything you want when you want it.

So I figure that's around six bucks.

i get by very comfortably on 1000 canadian a month - that includes rent, food, bills, entertainment.

If I were to earn 50k+ a year, I'd be extremely content.

I couldn't get by on 1000 a month... I mean I could... I just REALLY wouldn't want to have to...
