Actually, before they died, Ion Storm released an editor for Thief 3.
The good folks over at Through The Looking Glass are busying themselves getting used to the editor and producing new content.
Thief 2 fan missions had exceptionally high production values, so I think we ca expect good things in the future.

Also, don't forget The Dark Mod for Doom 3. Again, pre-production work has been superb, especially for some of the models.

The Thief community is a very strong one; they'll keep the series alive for a very long time.

I really am stunned at the quality of work that's already gone in to the Dark Mod.
I was worried that it might lose impetus with the release of the Thief 3 editing tools, but it doesn't seem to have phased them in the slightest.
